St. Joseph County taxpayers are reminded that their fall installment of property taxes this year is due on Tuesday, November 13. Taxpayers are receiving an extra three days to pay this year because the regular due date, November 10th falls on a Saturday.
Taxpayers are reminded that they will not receive an additional bill since both the spring and fall coupons were mailed out in April. Those who have lost or misplaced the fall coupon can print one out by visiting the Treasurer’s website at www.sjcindiana.com/386/Treasurer and clicking the link “View Tax Bill”.
Taxpayers choosing to pay in person can do so on the second floor of the County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd. in South Bend Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. All county offices will be closed Tuesday, November 6 because of the general election.
To avoid long lines, payments can also be made by mail, online or by phone. To pay by mail, taxpayers should send their payment along with the fall coupon to the St. Joseph County Treasurer, P.O. Box 4758, South Bend, IN 46634. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if requesting a receipt. Payments postmarked by November 13 are considered on time and not subject to penalty.
To pay online, go to the Treasurer’s website mentioned above and click the link “Pay Your Tax Bill”.
To pay by phone, call 877-690-3729 and use jurisdiction code 2413. You will also need your duplicate number which is located on the fall coupon. A service fee is charged when paying online or by phone.
