Collection begins October 19th and includes up to four (4) fall passes through December 18th as weather permits, and one (1) Spring pass. Subsidized rates depend on tree density and leaf volume where the County is covering program costs to help reduce individual residents’ costs for service. Participating residents benefit from the subsidized rates by paying for the service at a fraction of the actual cost. Andrew Kostielney, President of the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners, offered, “I applaud the efforts of the Leaf Task Force, led by Commissioner Fleming, for coming up with a creative approach to assist our citizens while living within the County’s financial constraints.”
